Welcome to Nila Music College. This school was established in 1994 to discover and nurture the creative talents of the children of our society. The institution was started in a rented building in Nochima, a village in Aluva town, Ernakulam district, Kerala state, India, with two children as Geetanjali Music Academy; today, the institution has become an international institution due to the vision, vision and hard work of the founder of this school, Mr. T. D. Anilkumar. It was the great desire of his father, Mr. TV. Damodaran and mother, Lalitha, to become a musician.

Playing the piano and singing since the age of 12, Mr. Anil was the leading keyboardist of various singing troupes in Kochi in the 1990s. He studied music at Cochin Kalabhavan, CAC and Hamsadhwani Kalakshetra Mumbai. Apart from college education, he also obtained a diploma in electronics and computers. He received a diploma in instrumental music from the University of Thames Valley and a degree in music theory from Trinity College, London. He had performed on his own before taking up music as a profession. He saw music as greater than the soul. He has shown his talent in all fields like music, drama, cinema, dance, painting, literary writing and directing and has used it to the fullest in his field of work.

In 2011, he was recognized by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. After that, the name of the institution was renamed as Nila Sangeetha College (Nila Sangeetha Nritta Kala Padana Kendra). Later, this school became an examination center for various universities. Today, training and examinations are given here according to a completely scientific syllabus in music, dance, acting, mimicry, musical instruments, painting, martial arts and technical disciplines. Nila Sangeetha College was awarded the Best Music School in Kerala award by the National Centre for Arts and Culture under the Central Government on Republic Day 2017. In 2025, it received the Dr. Ambedkar Fellowship National Award from the Bharatiya Sahitya Akademi. In 2025, it also received the International Experience Award for Instrumental Music Teacher from Trinity College, London. Unlike other institutions, this college offers various courses like Degree, PG, Diploma, Special Diploma, Certificate, Grade, TTC, Job Oriented, Crash etc. Classes are offered through offline and distance education. 

We are successfully pursuing the recognition of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi and the courses and examinations of various universities. It is an internationally and domestically recognized ISO certified institution that has produced many talents by providing excellent work in the fields of art, culture, music, dance and acting for 31 years. Certificates are obtained from government recognized universities. Maximum students are available for job opportunities in this field. We are proud and happy to inform you that Nila College is the best field for the scientific approach to teaching music and fine arts.

The most important thing about this institution is its expert and post-graduate qualified teachers. Today, there are centers in Aluva and Kochi. Distance education is also provided to various parts of the world. Our main goal is to provide employment in this field through a completely scientific and theoretical method of study beyond ordinary art education. Renowned musician Sri Pranavam Sankaran Namboothiri was appointed as the first advisor of this institution. Renowned radio artist Arun Balakrishnan Sumathala is the patron. The institution functions under a governing body led by several artists including renowned film director Sri Kalabhavan Navas and film script writer Babu Pallassery. A live music band for the little ones is our specialty. We are very proud that the former students of this school have made a name for themselves in the film, music and dance fields today. But we remember the crises of the Covid era with great sadness. The former students of Nila have made their mark in the fields of film, music, dance and education. Dr. K. Jayalakshmi - Carnatic Vocalist / Vaggeyakari

Dr. K. Jayalakshmi was born on 30 November 1953 in Thiruvananthapuram. She was born into a family with a rich musical tradition. She is the granddaughter of the great Vaggeyakari and musician Harikeshanallur Dr. L. Muthiah Bhagavathar and the daughter of singer Sri Nellai T.V. Krishnamurthy and Smt. Gomathi Krishnamurthy. Growing up in a musically woven environment at home, she was able to build a strong foundation in music from her childhood. The selfless service of her teacher is always an example and an asset to us.
